Three Questions for Mayoral Candidates

At the time of writing (September 4, 2014), the Toronto municipal election is getting into high gear.  The mayor’s race is attracting a lot of interest for a number of reasons.

Jane-Finch On The Move wants to see if we can get any of the main candidates to reply to a few questions.  After some discussion, we decided that the following three questions cover a range of concerns.

1. The Jane-Finch area has a high concentration of Toronto Community Housing buildings.  As mayor, what would you do to facilitate repairs and upgrades in these units?

2. Do you have any plans for improving and implementing programs for youth and the unemployed, such as apprenticeship programs?

3. Given your personal background and experiences, how can you relate to life in priority areas such as Jane-Finch?  Why should Jane-Finch residents vote for you?

And so we’ve emailed these questions to the following candidates, listed in alphabetical order:

Olivia Chow

Rob Ford

Ari Goldkind

David Soknacki

John Tory

The City of Toronto has the full candidate list here.

We will post all responses on this web site.  Will any candidate reply?
